Royal Greenland is one of Europe’s largest seafood producers, with a turnover of DKK 5 billion. We have production facilities located in Greenland, Denmark, Canada, Poland and Germany.

Royal Greenland A/S is seeking a skilled and result-oriented factory manager who is able to handle the challenges that come with having total factory responsibility as the senior manager of a production unit under rapid development.

You will have overall responsibility for the plant’s performance, including yield, consumption and costs/earnings. It will be your job to ensure the ongoing optimisation of resource utilisation and production output in relation to the available raw materials, capacity, production schedules and quality requirements.

You will also have the overall managerial responsibility, including for the coaching and development of the management team and other employees.

The factory in Ilulissat:

The plant mainly processes prawn and buys Greenland halibut and other fish for freezing. There is also shrimpmeal production and service areas such as the laboratory and workshop, cleaning, catering and administration. The factory is located in Ilulissat, a popular tourist resort, with a world-famous ice fjord.

Your primary tasks will be:

• Daily management of the factory in Ilulissat
• Daily follow-up and support of planning, purchasing, quality and technology
• Operations follow-up
• Ongoing optimisation of resource use and production results
• Investigation and explanation of possible deviations
• Ongoing liaison with local authorities
• Prioritisation of work tasks
• Production planning
• Process optimisation and development
• Purchasing
• Production within specifications
• Technical maintenance and development of the plant in cooperation with the technical manager
• Supplier relations
• Co-operation with product managers and the rest of the RG organisation

Your profile:

• You have several years of experience as a factory manager at an equivalent level, or a similar relevant background
• You have a relevant educational background in production and management
• A higher technical education is an advantage
• Experience of working with KPIs, including defining objectives and ensuring their implementation and follow-up
• You play a visible managerial role and possess impact
• You possess a solid understanding of production processes, ideally with experience in fish production
• You are strong in administration and can grasp complex circumstances
• You work in an analytical and structured manner, with overall clarity
• You enjoy working independently, but you also know how to ensure a high level of involvement from other parts of the factory and the organisation
• You make your choices on the basis of facts and experience
• You are ambitious, both on your own behalf and on behalf of the company
• Greenlandic/Danish-speaking candidates will be emphasised
